Our oldest isn't old enough for Cub Scouts, but Derrick is the Cub Master, so we still hear all about scouts and sometimes help participate in it.
Derrick and I came up with these fun candy "trophies" to give to each scout during the Pinewood Derby. They each received one along with a certificate. They were so simple to make and would be great for birthday parties as well!
I think the photos are pretty self explanatory, just a bit of hot glue and the candy was easily attached.
Two days after the Cub Scout derby, the Elder's Quorum had their OWN. NO RULES. Here is Derrick's car that he put together in about 30 minutes. I about died laughing. It wasn't the fastest car, and didn't win 1st place, but didn't do too bad...the 6' straw might have helped it get to the finish line ahead of the other car a few times ;)

These are really cute. Our son just finished his first year of scouts and his first Pine Wood Derby. He won the whole thing! It was so much fun. He and my husband spent each night for a week building his car. It was a blast, but now the expectations are all ready high for next year.

ReplyDeleteAdorable!! We have a family pinewood derby every year that is so much fun. Each family can race a car but it has to be a new car to win a prize. Then anyone can race old cars just for fun. I am going to bookmark this idea for our next race, which is soon! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeletekeep posting like this it’s really very good idea, you are awesome!

These are so cute! I absolutely love the ideas! We have a pine wood derby, but we make little boats instead and you have to blow them to the finish line. In fact the pictures from our most recent family reunion are cycling through on my photo collage clock right now!
