Messenger Diaper Bag!

I decided to put some of my new fabric to good use...so I made myself a new diaper bag! A messenger diaper bag.
It has pockets for everything....lots of pockets.Velcro closure for pockets on the side...
2 front pockets...
Nice roomy & stretchy pouches inside...
and a back zippered pocket.

And wouldn't you know, after I finished the bag, I decided that I would have liked it better with the yellow on the inside. It's true! Oh well, I still like it and it is growing on me. I guess somehow I didn't imagine it being this bright when it was finished!
The Hip Mama Diaper Bag tutorial is free and was FANTASTIC! I would definitely recommend it. The only addition I made was to make a loop on the side for my mini antibacterial gel/holder to attach to.
We've also been doing a bit of organizing. Two girls and two boys is absolutely perfect when it comes to sharing bedrooms, so we made room in Kaylee's closet for baby sister's things. Kaylee's dresser had seen better days and was heavy. We opted to do module containers (Sterilite brand) that stacked. It took us a little while in the store to figure out what we wanted (there are lots of combinations!), but figured out a system that would work great for not only clothes, but compartments for blankets, shoes, etc. I especially like the smaller ones on top for tights, socks, and underwear.

Kaylee was very excited to "help". She sat next to me as I folded laundry and pointed out all of things that were hers when she was a baby. Here she is modeling her side of the closet. She likes the clear drawers and I've noticed her being a lot more independent as far as getting her own things out (which can be good and bad) with our new system!

Tonight I had a maternity photo shoot with a local photographer who is looking to build up her new website. It was a lot of fun! She is amazing and I can't wait to see more of the the proofs! Here is one...
Just a few more weeks til baby is here!

  17. I really like the bright colored material you used. I have to make one soon! I'm expecting my 4th in about 11 weeks and don't want to pay the prices I've seen on Etsy for diaper bags. Thanks for the great example...I'm a little worried though because I am a very novice sewer.
